Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of YourHouseFix, whether you are a homeowner posting a job or a tradesperson with a listing. By using the site you agree to them.

What we do

YourHouseFix introduces homeowners to local tradespeople. We are not a tradesperson and we do not carry out any work ourselves. The contract for any work is between the homeowner and the tradesperson.

No payment from homeowners

No payment is taken from homeowners on this site. When you post a job, the tradesperson agrees the price and time with you and you pay them directly. A posted job is a request, not a confirmed booking, until a tradesperson accepts it and you confirm with them.

Verification and information

A verified badge means we checked a register for that trade and hold insurance on file with an expiry date at the time of checking. A listing we have not verified says so. Ratings and review counts drawn from Google are shown with attribution and for comparison only. We take care to keep listings accurate but cannot guarantee every detail is current, and a badge is not a guarantee of the standard of any work.

Tradespeople and leads

Listing is free. A tradesperson who accepts a job pays the published lead fee, and a subscription where they have chosen one, on the terms shown on the trades page and in their dashboard, which form part of these terms. There is no minimum term. A tradesperson who receives a homeowner's details holds them as an independent controller for that job only and must not use them for any other purpose. We may suspend a listing where we have reason to; if we do, billing stops at the same time and we show the reason within 48 hours.

Reviews

Reviews may only be left through a job reference issued by us. We publish genuine reviews, positive and negative, and disclose any incentive a tradesperson offered. A tradesperson may reply to a review but may not have a genuine review removed. Reviews belong to the tradesperson they concern, who may export them at any time.

Your responsibilities

Please give accurate details when you post a job or list a business, and use the site lawfully. Do not misuse the service, post jobs you do not intend to go ahead with, or attempt to disrupt the site.

Our responsibility

We work hard to provide a reliable service but we provide the site "as is". We are not responsible for the standard of work carried out by a tradesperson, or for any agreement you make with one. Any dispute about the work is between you and the tradesperson, though we are happy to help where we can.

Transfer of the business

We may transfer, assign, novate or subcontract any of our rights and obligations under these terms, and we may transfer the business or its assets, including tradesperson listings, reviews, accounts and related data, to a third party, for example on a sale, merger, investment or reorganisation of the business. These terms continue to apply to the new owner, and a tradesperson's account, reviews and agreed price transfer with it. You may not transfer your own rights or obligations under these terms without our consent.

Changes and law

We may update these terms from time to time; the latest version always applies. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

YourHouseFix is a trading name of YourHouseFix Ltd (company number to follow). No payment is taken from homeowners on this site.
