YourHouseFix is a UK marketplace where you post a home repair or improvement job free and hear back from a verified local tradesperson fast. It is free for homeowners, and tradespeople pay only for the jobs they accept.
What we do
Most people do not want a list of twenty firms. They want one good local tradesperson who answers the phone, turns up when they said, and charges what they quoted. That is the whole job of YourHouseFix.
You post the job once: the trade you need, your postcode and a line on what needs doing. It goes to one verified local tradesperson first, and never to more than three. They reply to you directly, you pick the one you want, and you agree the price and time with them. We are the introduction, not a middleman on your bill.
What we stand for
Trades who answer
A job gets a first response within 2 hours in working hours, or we escalate it to the next tradesperson ourselves and tell you. Every listing shows its typical response time.
Verified means checked
A verified badge means we checked a register for that trade and hold insurance on file with an expiry date. A listing we have not verified says so.
Free for homeowners
Posting a job, hearing back and choosing costs nothing. No payment is taken on this site. You pay the tradesperson directly for the work.
Both badges appear on listings. We would rather say "not yet verified" plainly than let a marketing word do the work.
How tradespeople pay
Listing is free. A tradesperson pays £10 a month plus £10 for each job they click Accept on, and nothing for a job they decline. There is no contract, no credits, and nothing that expires. The first 500 to join are Founding Members and keep that price for life. The full terms are printed as a ten point charter on the trades page, and they are the rules we run by.
We started in the West Midlands and are opening areas as tradespeople join. Where we have nobody near you yet, the search says so rather than pretending.
Who is behind it
YourHouseFix is a trading name of YourHouseFix Ltd, a UK company (company number to follow), and a sister site to YourCarGarage.co.uk, which does the same job for drivers and garages. The same small team builds and runs both. If you want to talk to a person, our contact page has the email, and a UK phone number is to follow.
