What a roofer does
Roofers deal with slipped and broken tiles, leaks, flat roof repairs and replacement, ridge and valley work, chimney flashing and full re-roofs. Roofing is the trade where homeowners worry most about being sold work they do not need, so in Poole ask for photos of the problem taken from the roof, not a description from the ground, and get a written quote before anyone starts.

Frequently asked questions
What should I do about storm damage to my roof?
Do not go on the roof yourself. Photograph the damage from the ground, move belongings away from any leak and put a bucket under drips. Tell your home insurer early, as most policies cover sudden storm damage but not wear and tear, then ask a roofer for a written report and quote.
Someone knocked and said my roof needs urgent work. What should I do?
Do not agree to anything at the door. A genuine roofer gives you a written quote and lets you take your time. Ask a listed business to look at and photograph the roof, and never pay cash up front.
How long should a flat roof last?
It depends on the material. Traditional felt tends to have the shortest life, while EPDM rubber, GRP fibreglass and modern single ply systems last considerably longer when fitted well. Ask which material is being quoted and what guarantee comes with it.
Do I need scaffolding for a roof repair?
For a small repair reached from a ladder or a roof ladder, often not. For work along a whole edge, a chimney or a full re-roof, scaffolding is normal and a legal safety matter for the roofer, so expect it on the quote.
How do I get a quote from roofers in Poole?
Pick a listing on this page and send a quote request saying what needs doing and when suits you. The business comes back to you with a price and a time. It is free to ask, and no payment is taken online.
Are the roofers on this page vetted?
Not yet. Listings marked Claimed have been claimed by the business and are kept up to date by them; the rest come from public records such as Companies House and Google and are marked as not yet claimed. Every listing shows its real Google rating and review count where one exists. We do not check registers or insurance yet, so ask for a Gas Safe or NICEIC/NAPIT number and check it yourself.
What should I check before I hire a roofer?
Ask for a written quote and what it includes, who will do the work, whether they are insured, and any registration the trade needs, such as Gas Safe for gas work or a Part P scheme for electrics. Never pay the full amount up front.
Prices and availability are confirmed by each business. No payment is taken online, you pay the tradesperson directly.
