Straight answers
How does YourHouseFix work?
Search free with the trade you need and your postcode, pick a local business from the list and send them a quote request with a line on what needs doing. It goes only to the business you choose, never to a list. They reply to you directly and you agree the price and time with them.
Is it free for homeowners?
Yes. Searching, sending a quote request and hearing back costs nothing, and no payment is taken on this site. You pay the tradesperson directly for the work.
How fast will someone reply?
That is up to the business, and many reply the same day. If they have not replied after a day, we remind them and let you know, and after two days we suggest you call them or pick another business.
Are the tradespeople checked?
Listings come from public records such as Companies House and from Google. We show whether a business has claimed its listing, but we do not check trade registers or insurance yet. For gas work always ask for a Gas Safe number, and for electrics ask for NICEIC or NAPIT, and check it yourself.
Will my phone number be shared with everyone?
No. Your details go only to the business you send your job to, never to a list of firms, and never to anyone for marketing.
